i really did try to make this the reading level equivalent of a teenage romance pocketbook, so please don't be too disgusted. or laugh too hard in case i fail.

PS: I'M SORRY. i'm especially sorry to nikki, len, chris(sie), ms. punzalan and everybody else who's probably going to cameo in this thing at one point or another.

any likeness to persons living or dead may or may not be purely coincidental. honestly, guys, apart from the names, i don't think you'll find much effort to maintain a resemblance. i can assure you, however, that no malice was intended in the creation of this silly little thing.

please don't sue/kill me. let me know what needs fixing via email/text/comments and i'll fix it ^^

PPS: FIXING, THE GRAMMAR NEEDS. DOING IT, I AM. EVENTUALLY.

It's Dylan Aiba, the vice president of the Student Council at our high school. Also known as the coolest guy on campus. )

Today was quite interesting.

Hence this writeup is a bit long.

How can you read this! There's no pictures! )

Thank you to everyone who answered my last two posts, and who emailed and texted me recently. It is impossible to express in words just how much your support meant.

It's been a trying time and things are just settling down for all of us here. I might be loaded with work and unreachable in the coming days, but I'll try to keep writing here and to pass on as much useful information as I can.

Thank you again.

a lot of people were more than wonderful to me yesterday. i fear that for lack of time and concentration, i can only afford a blanket "thank you"... i will sincerely attempt to be more gracious later.

for now, thank you. thank you, thank you, thank you. for putting up with me for this long, and for reasons that have remained a complete mystery to me ♥ i hope to continue being worth your while.

i promised myself that i was going to finish something non-work-related before end of day. it turned out to be something inspired by another something that the talented [info]keiohwai drew for me.

my energies have been everywhere lately and i'm afraid the drabble is nowhere as awesome as the artwork... but er... at least it's finished? i should update the Songs at the End of the World with these two things, and a few minor tweaks, sometime within the week.

for a backgrounder, see the Four Horsemen Arc summary page. character pages for Simoun and Sheila may also be helpful.

click here to view the artwork at [info]keiohwai's deviantart account. skip the rest of this post XD

untitled for now. i still suck at titles after all this time, is why. )
19th-May-2009 10:46 am - star trek (2009)

this post would've come earlier, but it figures i was swamped with work as soon as the plane touched the ground -_-

hence, the first thing i did was run off and watch the star trek movie with a cousin :D no really, if you were in my situation what would you have done.

***

we wanted to see it in imax. then upon traveling all the way there we learned that it was NOT being shown in 3D. disappointed, we made our way to the other end of the mall (thoroughly blistering the soles of my feet in the process - borrowed slippers ftl) where the regular cinemas were.

then we learned that the first showing of star trek was going to be at 7 pm :(

so we trekked (yeah XD) all the way back to the car and headed off to a cheaper theatre. we had never been there and we didn't know that it was FREEZING inside. so in-between episodes of hypothermia, we sat back and enjoyed the movie.

without being spoilery, i can probably sum up my reaction in one word:

magnificent

and being spoilery, i need to hide my blabla underneath an lj-cut. and a big black block, so you still have to highlight to view, and comment even if you don't read the rest of this post. this is how i love you. )

what i love best about this movie is its unwavering RESPECT for the source material. there was much research done on everybody's part.

the reviews are right: this is an excellent movie for trek fans and non-trek fans alike. entertaining through and through.
optimus prime is not amused
watching Primer led me to believe that TV (not american tv per se, as i doofusly said to the talented sister-thing - who for the record understood the events much more and faster than i did. then again, she appreciated donnie darko more than i did, so she has a history of this) has dulled my brain.

i could BARELY follow the story and am not at all comforted by the knowledge that the film isn't supposed to be fully understood by the viewer. yes i googled it up after watching, and some of the things made sense... but as the sister-thing has explained most of it to me already, there really wasn't much else to find out.

anyway, Primer is a damn good movie. i wasn't disappointed at all that i got it, and i'm very easily disappointed these days. everyone into intelligent indie movies should see.

also, The Hunt for Gollum was rather impressive. i'm glad for all the hype, this was really well-made for an independent production. i suppose it's proof that sheer love for a story can make you do great fanart fanfics things with it, even with limited resources.

hmm... i think i'd like to be on an indie scifi oldies kick. being deprived of star trek is what probably does this to me :/ i want to watch rene laloux's films the next time i have time.

adam lambert fans should see this video of adam's youngest fan. she's 15 months old and just about the most adorable fangirl ever~

speaking of adam, the talented sister-thing led me to a forum containing my quote of the week:

Thank you, PTB. If your hard work pays off with an Adam win, I will continue to spend my money on your stupid show that makes me care beyond all rational thinking.
